…. Curator’s Pen
This is really great to curate the
First Exhibition of Art Insight Medium (AIM). As the Secretary of this
non-profit organization, I have received this privileged opportunity to curate
the show as requested by the trustees and organizing committee.
I am grateful to all of them.
It’s a group show, so there is very
controlled scope to curate, but obviously it gives me immense pleasure that
most of the participant Artists showed sufficient eagerness to follow little
stringent but neo-open-ended guidelines. Here, few Artists have already
developed and established their styles but others are going to ascertain their
own, so it is “Gradually Individual”.
The new emphasis on medium and surface
has taken a series of metamorphosis during the different transition period of
Artists’ Life. The Artists in “Gradually Individual” share an
interest in archaic traditions as well as contemporary feeling and overall ‘A
fascination for personal cosmologies and visionary languages’. It is a peculiar
form of magic realism that emerges from the works on view, coupled with a
renewed belief in art as a tool for expressing the thoughts as well as
contemplation process.
Individualism takes human and humanism
a few steps further and is the belief that individual humans are capable of
great accomplishments. The more communal, group oriented society and
mentality of the Ages was being replaced by a belief in the potential of the
individual to make great achievements in the segment of creativity, Art is a
Simple form of this. The importance of this concept was that it can free
individuals and geniuses, to live up to their potential without being held back
by a society that always questions about the reformation or breaking
traditional styles and beliefs.
bon voyage
